Workshop - How to design & implement lifecycle
strategies
Friday 15th October, 2010
Post-Conference Workshop A - 9.00am - 4.00pm
At the core of reform and review of the superannuation system is how to improve retirement incomes for super fund members. With an ageing population, a focus on securing and improving retirement incomes throughout retirement is a key focus for the industry.
Lifecycle investment strategies can protect members in volatile times, deal with market turbulence and see better retirement incomes for the consumer. However, implemented incorrectly, they can be problematic.
The challenge is in the design; design needs to be tailored to the needs of the consumer, and bespoke options and solutions will lead to better engagement of the consumer, better protection over turbulent times and more beneficial retirement income outcomes.
At this workshop you will explore how to:
- Utilise behavioural finance to inform default option design
- Design flexible lifecycle strategies, either fully customised or low-cost My Super solutions
- Have a true member focus
- Create retirement income solutions and lifecycle planning to offer your members the best way to manage their super fund from ‘cradle to grave’
- Deliver on the value proposition for your members.
